The Rainbow of Love
I managed to finish my first week of teaching. It a hell of a week. I am exhausted but excited at the same time. I received two emails about two students that need academic accommodations last week. The former is a very short email. The latter is a longer email. The student in the second email came to my office and explained to me her conditions. I promised her to accommodate her by giving more time to the exams.
If you ever came to my office, you will see four eye-catching photos of the moon hanging on the wall. Each photo captures different phases of the moon from the new moon to the full moon. Almost everybody who came to my office gave a compliment about the photo set. The student also gave a compliment. I asked her back what do you know about the moon. She answered that moon has its dark side and only reflected the sun ray instead of emitted its own light. I said back to her that she is correct and went on with a rambling that the moon somehow represents us. We all had our dark side and reflected God’s glory and light instead of having our own glory or shine our light. She turned into a deep thinking mode and replied “Wow, that is something to ponder”. I teased her by asking do you know moonbow? “Moonbow?”, she asked me back. Yes, moonbow. “I am pretty sure that you know the rainbow.
